Job Description


Summary


Business analysts focus on supporting the strategic and analytical needs of our holding company and Brands, with emphasis on the underwriting functions, with analyses and deployment of various tools. Typical projects include segmentation studies, state premium projections, new market analysis, market intelligence, STI target setting, underwriting tool analysis, and general ad hoc data support. Analysts may be called to perform financial analysis including competitor intelligence and industry comparisons. In addition, analysts will work as a liaison between underwriting, predictive modeling, actuarial, and IT departments.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION:


Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, economics, or related field required. Continuous learning required, as defined by the Company's learning philosophy.



EXPERIENCE:


With proper education, no experience is required; however, one year of relevant experience which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities is preferred. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and Access) required. Data analysis experience is preferred.


SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:




WORKING CONDITIONS:


Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Minimal travel is required.
